Pianist Anna Tilbrook, tenor James Gilchrist, the Sacconi Quartet and friends join the BBC at the University of Hull’s Middleton Hall for a Big Chamber Weekend - four concerts celebrating the city’s musical, cultural and political heritage. The four concerts will be presented by Petroc Trelawny and broadcast on Radio 3 in October.
In the third concert, we celebrate Hull’s history as a sea port with its thriving fishing industry, with songs by Faure and Schubert, as well as Schubert’s famous “Trout” Quintet.
We are delighted to welcome Professor David Starkey from the University of Hull History department who will provide a pre-concert lecture entitled: ‘THE NORTH SEA - Hull celebrated as a sea and fishing port’.
