On the first weekend of November, students, graduates, alumni and friends of the Drama Department will reunite for a series of careers sessions, meetings, social events and some performance work. Initiated in a few years ago by Tom Atkinson (Drama 1976), this is a third major get-together of current and former Drama students to learn more about Drama-inspired careers. Alumni offer workshops, talks, one-on-one tutorials and advice on what you can do with a Drama degree.
- Campus Tour with David Simpson on Friday 2 November 1700-1800
- Silent Uproar's performance of A Super Happy Story (About Feeling Super Sad) as part of their UK tour:
Don Roy Theatre, Gulbenkian, Friday 2 November from 19.30 (pay what you can)
Please sign up for as many sessions as you wish. They are all free of charge.
Please note that the sessions are subject to change, refinement and adjustment. Venues will be finalised on arrival.
In case we run out of capacity, we'll try to adjust the sessions and accommodate your interest.
If you are unsure and indecisive, just come for coffee on Saturday at 9.30am (or any time really) and find out. (But the sessions may be booked up by then.)
- Pavel Drábek (firstname.lastname@example.org), Professor of Drama and Theatre Practice
- Tom Atkinson (email@example.com), TV producer and director, Drama Graduate (Class of 1976), and
- Alex Brook (firstname.lastname@example.org), Technical Manager, organising the speed-dating session
On the first weekend of November, the Drama Department will be holding the third annual Gulbenkian Festival – a gathering of former, current and even prospective students of Drama at Hull. We are calling all friends to come back to the Department, to meet old friends, current students and to share your experience of life as a Hull Drama graduate.
Drama graduates are equipped with malleable and highly transferable skills. Their professional experience is evidence of this versatility; passing on knowledge and experience is invaluable and inspiring.
Everyone is welcome to attend with sessions. You can moderate the discussion at a session, or just come back to see the work of current students, take a tour of the department or campus, or attend some of the social events. We hope that this will be a fun, work-and-social event that will be enjoyable and useful for everyone.
If you would like to present your theatre company (in a 10-minute sketch), please contact Alex.
