I Told You I Was Ill - Three short contemporary, surreal dramas inspired by the life and work of Spike Milligan.
Recorded live with an audience at Middleton Hall Theatre, and broadcast on BBC Radio 3 as part of the Contains Strong Language festival*. Award winning actress and writer Jessica Hynes writes and performs her own short drama about a female stand-up in search of the perfect gig. In the centenary year of his birth, this is a special homage to Spike Milligan, where three writers respond to Milligan's style, his work, his legacy. Each 25' drama will be interspersed with Milligan's poetry performed live.
*Contains Strong Language takes place in Hull from the 28th – 30th Sept
