A tribute performance for experimental composer and electronic music pioneer Pauline Oliveros who was best know for her philosophy of ‘deep listening’, an approach to music she described as ‘listening in every possible way to everything possible to hear no matter what one is doing’.
Staff and students in Music will be joined by Hull-based international sound artist and musician Jez Riley French, along with other guests including Australian sound artist and composer Dave Buraston and Marlo de Lara and Jo Kennedy from the Yorkshire Sound Women’s Network, in an interpretation of Oliveros’ ‘Open Field’, inside and outside of the Middleton Hall foyer.
