Understanding roles in elite sports performance – organised by Sport, Health and Exercise Science.
Dr Sophie Killer from the English Institute of Sport and Julie Hayton from Function Jigsaw will discuss their roles in working with elite level athletes.
Sophie will focus on elite performance nutrition in British Olympic and Paralympic Track & Field, while Julie discusses her experiences of working as a Graduate Sports Rehabilitator in elite professional sport, culminating in the involvement of a long and complex rehabilitation for professional footballer Shaun Barker, which has drawn attention from mainstream media in the form of a TV documentary called 1065 days.
