Picnic at Hanging Rock (1967) is regarded as one of the best Australian novels. Hosted by regular attendee Keith Parsons, the novel adds an international element to the series, and the novel takes its name from a unique geological formation in Victoria. The novel can also be considered an early example of Neo-Victorianism, describing mysterious events taking place in 1900.
