Susan Hill’s The Woman in Black (1983), hosted by Aly Edwards
The Literary Landscapes series kicks off in style with guest host Aly Edwards from Manchester Metropolitan University. Aly’s research on tourism and haunted houses makes them the perfect person to introduce Susan Hill’s The Woman in Black (1983). Nowhere is the atmosphere of landscape more important than in a ghost story and it finds its embodiment here in the gloomy and isolated Eel Marsh House. As with every new season of the reading group attending this first session is recommended as it will set out some key themes to lookout for throughout the rest of the season.
Cost: Free Admission – All welcome but booking is required in order to guarantee a place and to enable us to ensure we have an adequately sized room booked for the session. For more information and to book online, please click here
