There are some amazing original paintings on view, and a great privilege to be able to see them close up.
However the exhibition is lacking a proper guide (even one to purchase), and lacks an explanation of what the exhibition is intended to portray: is it the power demonstrated through Terence Cuneo’s art, or the power of his subject material? Whichever answer only a snapshot is shown, with a lot of repetition.
Where are the military paintings, where are the travel paintings, where are his mouse paintings, where are his magnificent powerful paintings of the elephants? In summary, with the huge resources of the Science Museum and its sponsors, and the offer of other originals free of charge, this exhibition is sadly a lost opportunity to do Terence Cuneo justice.
