Described by The Times as a violinist ‘who held us rapt in daring and undaunted performances’ and by The Guardian as a performer of ‘fearless intensity’, Tamsin Waley-Cohen enjoys an adventurous and varied career. She has won several prestigious titles, including being selected as a Wigmore Emerging Artist for 2015-2016 and a European Concert Halls Organisation’s Rising Star for 2016-17, and is a Signum Artist for Signum Records.
Hugo Ticciati is a violinist with a uniquely intellectual approach to his work, incorporating aspects of literature, philosophy, spirituality and meditation. He embraces the world of contemporary music, and in coming seasons will be performing world premières of concertos dedicated to him in Europe, Asia, and North and South America.
Tamsin and Hugo will present an exciting programme themed around improvisation, featuring works by Bach, Bartok, Berio and Geza Frid. Improvisation will link the works in this varied programme for two violins.
