Signs of Safety and Restorative Practice in NE Lincs Council.
In 2015 North East Lincolnshire Council created an innovative approach to social care using their ‘Creating Strong Communities’ model.
The aim was to fundamentally change the way local practitioners and partners work together to safeguard children.
It brought together four established tools within social work and community practice including Restorative Practices and Signs of Safety.
This half-day conference, in partnership with the University of Hull and NE Lincs Council, celebrate some of the achievements of the innovation which won the 2018 LGC award for Children and Services. It highlights social work student experiences of Restorative Practice and Signs of Safety training delivered by NE Lincs Council to social work students at the University of Hull, and their experiences of using these approaches in practice.
